My Experience and How I can serve Waller County

Having worked for trade associations and advocacy groups across a variety of industries, my work often hinges on exploring and developing opportunities with external organizations. I am excited to share my vision for creating opportunities for Waller County. By leveraging grants and my past experience in external relationship building, I believe we can promote managed growth, create jobs, facilitate economic development, build the infrastructure we need for the future, and improve the quality of life for all residents.

An example of opportunities I wish to pursue for the county are the many different state and federal grants that are available. Grants are a valuable source of funding that can provide the financial support needed to implement projects and initiatives that benefit cities and counties. As a County Commissioner, I plan to actively seek out and apply for grants from federal, state, and private sources. These grants can be used to fund a wide range of projects, including infrastructure improvements, economic development initiatives, conservation efforts, and social and educational programs.

Drawing on my past experience in external relationship building, I want to engage in strategic outreach efforts to create opportunities for our county. Building relationships with key stakeholders, such as government agencies, nonprofit organizations, businesses, chambers of commerce and economic development corporations, and community leaders, can provide valuable insights, resources, and support for county initiatives.

Here are some examples of how I plan to achieve this:

Economic Development and Job Creation: I will explore grants and partnerships to attract new businesses, promote entrepreneurship, and create job opportunities in our county. I’ve worked with economic development corporations, chambers, businesses, and other organizations in multiple states to promote supply chain investment and workforce development in the construction industry. I want to work with our residents, economic developers, and business organizations to promote local job creation and take advantage of commercial opportunities for the county.
